How does the Art of Reggae Website work?
ArtofReggae.com is a thriving community for reggae musicians of all levels. It features a growing amount of educational content starting with courses for keyboards but will grow to include offerings for guitar, bass, drums and percussion. You can choose from a monthly or yearly payment plan and cancel at any time. Once you’re onboard, you simply access the many videos, practice loops, PDF downloads, community forum and have a blast learning the many subtleties of this amazing music!

Which payment methods to you accept? 
We currently accept almost any kind of credit and debit card- Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club. If you currently reside outside of the U.S., you should contact your bank to verify that your card is authorized to to make international purchases.

How do I upgrade or renew my membership?
To upgrade or renew your current membership, please visit your click the “Account” or “Account Info” button from the main menu, from your Member Dashboard, or in the footer and select the member plan of your choice.

How do I cancel my recurring membership?
To cancel your recurring Membership, click the “Your Account” tab/button from the main menu or from your Member Dashboard (link), and select “cancel.” You will continue to have access to the site until the end of your payment period.

What’s included in the courses?
Courses are specifically tailored to guide you through the understanding of specific topics related to your playing. Courses can include anywhere from 6-10 step by step videos each. You can find the audio tracks featured in each lesson in the Practice Loops section of the website.

What’s a ‘one shot’?
A single lesson video, sometimes 2 videos, focusing on a very specific area, as opposed to an entire course with 6-10 sequential lesson videos.

Do I have to take the course lessons in specific order?
No. You can drop into whatever topic interests you, or take the course sequentially.

What’s included in the practice loops?
In the Practice Loops section of the site you’ll find some amazing play-along tracks that include original songs composed specifically for the courses and one-shots recorded by the Art of Reggae band. (Tuff Lion – guitar, Winston Maccow – bass, Glen Grant – drums, Maroghini – percussions, Matt Jenson – keyboards) You’ll also find electronic re-makes of many popular Jamaican riddims. You can choose versions of the practice loops that are specific for your instrument in which that instrument is muted. For instance, if you’re a keyboard player, you can choose the practice loop version that has the keyboards muted. You can use any of these loops to practice any of the concepts you are learning.

How much experience do I need to get started?
The wonderful thing about reggae music is that, on a basic level, it requires relatively little technique and theoretical understanding so even a beginner can jump in and start playing a reggae tune or two very quickly. We’ll show you how. Once you dive in deeper, it’s an endless well of subtlety that you’ll discover to improve your groove.

What’s the community forum all about?
It’s an online community of reggae musician enthusiasts of all levels from across the globe. Connect with fellow reggae music lovers to ask and get answers to questions, to make new friends and to deepen your learning. The forum is monitored by Art of Reggae educators who will respond!

What are the curated playlists?
These are Spotify playlists that provide a select number of tracks of recordings by original reggae artists that give specific examples of topics presented in each course and lesson. Instead of spending hours searching for real world examples, we’ve done it for you.

What can I expect for new material?
The site has complete courses and one-shots for keyboards and Matt will be adding one-shot lessons every few months.
